Casa Filia is a characteristic restored historic home located in the center of Sternatia, a town in Salento. Casa Filìa (from the Greek "happiness, friendship") takes its name from the ancient access door to the still existing historic center, the Porta Filìa, a few meters from the house. It is arranged on two levels, which can be accessed from two separate entrances. The first level consists of a dining room with barrel vaults communicating with the equipped kitchen. The second level is accessible through a small terrace that leads to the living room where, under the beautiful star ceiling, there is a fireplace and two single sofa beds. There is also a double bedroom accessible from the outside via a steep and characteristic staircase. The house is completed by two shower rooms. Next to the bedroom there is a small terrace furnished with a small table and chairs.
Casa Filia is located in the center of Sternatia, a historic village in the heart of Salento Greece, the home of pizzica. Lecce is approximately at 16 km and from here you can reach the beautiful beaches of the Adriatic coast (Otranto, San Foca, Torre Dell’Orso).
The Salento area is famous for its uncontaminated beaches, wild nature, excellent Mediterranean cuisine and dreamy landscapes: it extends from the Adriatic coast with the marinas of Melendugno, Santa Cesarea Terme and Otranto, to the Ionian sea that bathes Porto Cesareo, Portoselvaggio and Gallipoli. It is a green peninsula between two seas, a magical land where mysterious dolmens and menhirs indicate the path, hidden among olive trees and dry stone walls in the countryside between Giurdignano and Minervino di Lecce. In the area there are numerous trekking routes to discover early Christian churches and underground oil mills. Do not miss a visit to Lecce, a baroque city with a beautiful Roman amphitheater.
